Richard O. Parry

June 4, 1948-September 26, 2003

Richard Parry served with the First Platoon from September, 1968 to September, 1969. He attained the rank of Sergeant, was awarded the Bronze Star and served the entire year in the field. He came from Poughkeepsie, New York. In his later life he resided in Holly Hill, Florida. He passed away on September 26, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lake City, Florida. He is survived by his sister Donna Parry of Wappingers Falls, New York. Donations may be sent to the Lake City Veterans Hospital, 60019 South Marian Ave, Lake City. FL 32035.

Hard to believe it's been a year since we lost you, I look toward heaven for signs that you are watching, and I sometimes think I hear the Bugles blasting, and cadence counting, and know you’re still not missing a step. Until our next parade, when we will again march together, my loving thoughts to you and our family. I miss you, remember, no more solo performances are necessary.
