Remijio and his brother Modesto attended the 2004 reunion. He can be seen in several photos: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six And he may be in other photos from this reunion.

    1st Sgt. Remijio Modesto Galvan March 29, 1936 - March 18, 2009
    Remijio was born March 29, 1936 in Del Norte, CO to Jose Adolfo Galvan and Maria Fedelina (Valdez) Galvan. He attended schools in Del Norte, CO.
    After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army, retiring with an honorable discharge in 1975, after 20 years. Remijio retired with the rank of 1st Sergeant. In the service, he earned the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device, Vietnam Service Medal W/3 Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) W Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal-1st through 6th awards, three Overseas Bars, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry W/Palm. After retirement from the Army, Remijio worked as a Security Sergeant for Geo Tech and retired with 23 years.
    Remijio married Erlinda Sawyer on November 15, 1958. On November 15, 2008, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Grand Junction, CO surrounded by family and friends. Remijio is survived by his wife, Erlinda; children, Karen (David) Green, Anita (Pat)Littlepage, Remijio Jr.(Jennifer) Galvan (former wife, Nicole Campbell), Ben Galvan (former wife, Rita Abeyta); 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren all of Grand Junction, CO; siblings, Dorothy (Dave) Pineda Espanola, NM; Elosia Renteria, Grand Junction; Magdalena Fisk, Pueblo, CO; Martha Garcia, Grand Junction; Fr. Lucas Galvan, Mexico City, Mexico; Lucy Galvan, Grand Junction; Mike Galvan, Grand Junction; Modesto (Phyllis) Galvan, Grand Junction; Juanita (Leo) Fisk, Florence, CO; Jose (Laurie) Galvan, Palisade, CO; Virginia (John) Painter, Grand Junction; Andrew (Kiersten) Galvan, Rio Rancho, NM; four brothers-in-law, Eddie (Jannita) Sawyer, California; Joe (Nellie) Sawyer, Satt (Mary) Sawyer, Benito (Angie) Sawyer all of Grand Junction; three sisters-in-law, Rose Garza, Mary Lousie Nash and Christina Gomez all of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Galvan; brothers, Gilbert and Luis Galvan; and grandson, Barry Kelleher.
    Remijio enjoyed woodworking, farming, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends and a good game of cribbage.
    A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 5 - 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with internment in Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction at 1:00 p.m.
