Letters of appreciation from 2006 reunion
Our Reunion Committee received a word of thanks from the following families
for our 2006 reunion.
This a letter to Wendell but we want everyone to see it as you will all agree!
Dear Wendell,
It is really hard to put into words what we want to say to you. You are
such a wonderful person. From the moment we arrived at the reunion you
welcomed us with open arms and took great care of us. Not only us, you
were attentive to everyone. You worked so hard making sure everyone was
greeted, given their name tags and shirts. Your dear family worked so
hard too. Obviously they have all your value's. Your dedication to the
reunion was extraordinary. Every moment you were thinking of others. You
made every person feel important and that seemed overwhelming to us with
the amount of people who attended. Every time you talked to the group
well felt your enthusiasm at being together. That is what brought many
people to the reunion. Your Passion.
All the planning before we arrived must have taken hours and hours of
your time. We thank you for caring so much to do that and everyone
benefited. The tours, the meals, the shirts and hat's made it all so
fun. All organized so perfectly.
Being with the people from Company D was truly unique. Even though we
were strangers to some in a few minutes it didn't seem that way. We felt
the strong bond and Jim felt so proud to have served his country with
the group of brave patriotic soldiers.
Wendell you stood out as a mentor, bother and friend. We adore you!
Thank you and your family for all you did. You are an extraordinary
person and we feel honored to know you.
Fondly,
Jim and Sue Drieth
Just wanted to say thanks for a great time in Kentucky.
This was my first reunion. As a medic with Co. D in 69-70 I was blessed
to have been surrounded by men who took care of me and the friends that
served with them. It was great to see all the friends and loved ones
together. I wanted to thank you all for a great time. My wife and I are
planning to attend again in 2008. I hope we can find more of our brothers
that we have not seen in many years. Thanks to Dennis Sperry for finding
me two years ago and putting me in touch with others. Great job Delta
Co. Keep up the good work.
