Delta Company 1/20Delta Company, 1st Of The 20th, 11th Light Infantry Brigade Fall Update: 2004 Newsletter Greetings Delta Company Family: A big "hello" to everyone! Time has passed by so fast. I can hardly believe it is late November. With the holiday season upon us, I wish each and all a wonderful season of joy! We are still looking for men who served in Delta Company. If you contact anyone who is not on the list, please have them, or with their consent, send their phone number, e-mail address, and mailing address to us using the web site contact form. All information on the Delta roster will be treated with strict privacy. Remember, if you move or change any contact information, please call someone or email us and give an update. Our reunion of April '04 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, was very good. We had officers there who served the 1/20; D Company's own C.O., Captain Charles Seketa (now retired "Col. Chuck") attended, along with three 1st sergeants, Top Remijio Gaivan, Top Erskin Wade, and Top Fred Battle, who are all retired from the military. It was great to have all these leaders together in one room. Answering an invitation from Wendell and Jan Strode, J. D. Kilzer and I attended the Americal Division's North Eastern Division Reunion in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Everyone enjoyed the hospitality of the Strode family and the city of Bowling Green. I think Delta Company will have a great time there in April '06. If you have not had the opportunity to attend one of the past reunions, please consider attending the April '06 reunion. It will be good for the whole family. You will certainly not be the first one to be nervous about coming, and hopefully, you won't leave disappointed. Everyone I have spoken with has been glad they attended! We have an ongoing effort to locate the body of our brother, David Lovegren. David was killed in the crash of March 1, 1969. During recovery efforts, his body fell from the sling underneath the chopper and could not be located. His family has worked very hard trying to recover David's remains to bring him home. If anyone can think of anything that happened that day or during the search period, please call any of the group listed above, or e-mail the information to us. Hopefully another search by the military will be conducted in the near future. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated by the Lovegren family. To you who have lost loved ones since the reunion, our prayers are with you. May God comfort you and your family. We will be in touch. From our home to yours with love, Delta Co. 1/20 P.S. Don't forget to call a buddy! |
