Gary Lee Browning was from Hutchinson, Kansas. He died while rushing to the aid of Charles Lloyd Freeman

Gary Browning was my close friend in high school. I have created a web page in his honor. I miss him so. I don't have to tell you Gary was a brave young man.He didn't even have to be there, he was an only son.He volunteer to go on my 18th birthday. We went down together and we registered for the draft. Who knew that 1 yr and 6 days later he would be dead! I couldn't believe it! I visited his mother while home on leave shortly after his death..... She brought out his medals and told me "This is all I have left.".... I choked... We hugged and cried.. Gary was that type, a very giving and compassionate young man.It just stood to reason that he would be a medic.... Thank you for remembering him. I've done all I know to do to keep his memory alive. He has 1 sister, and his mother is still living. His dad has passed. I visit Gary's grave every time I'm back in our home town and I make the trip on Veterans Day and Memorial Day to place a flag on his grave.

Again Thank you.
Warmest Regards,
